The municipal council of Perl-Besch on the Mosel in Saarland, Germany, has approved the development plan for a new Pyrum Innovations plant.

Pyrum Innovations, which recycles end of life tires (ELT) using its patented pyrolysis technology, can now begin detailed planning for its new facility. Modeled on its main plant at Dillingen, the new facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

“Only around eight weeks have passed since the initial approval of the local and municipal councils for the establishment of Pyrum in December 2023 and the current adoption of the final development plan,” said Pascal Klein, CEO of Pyrum Innovations.

“After demonstrating with the expansion of our main plant in Dillingen that our technology works and is scalable, we now want to roll out our pyrolysis process on a large scale in order to sustainably solve the recycling problem with used tires.

“We have already ordered the first plant components with notoriously long delivery times and construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2024.”
