APPLICATION
SP 1068 is oil-soluble and therefore compatible with various synthetic rubbers. The resin is used in ply cements by formulating into solvent based adhesives, which find application in the plied-up construction of tires. The resin can also be compounded directly into the rubber stock.
SP 1068 is finding wider acceptance as tackifier in pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, as a replacement for conventional thermoplastic hydrocarbon tackifiers. SP 1068 shows far superior aged tack over hydrocarbon resins.
