Goodyear has announced that its continued collaboration with Porsche has seen the certification of its Eagle F1 SuperSport R and SuperSport RS tires for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS sports car.
The tires represent the highest performance levels in Goodyear’s UUHP (ultra-ultra-high-performance) portfolio and have been specifically engineered to complement the capabilities of the new 911 GT3 RS.
The SuperSport RS features a specialized high-friction compound tailored for track use in dry conditions, and the tire’s inner groove has been designed to enhance cornering stability by optimizing pressure distribution across the tire footprint.
The Eagle F1 SuperSport R provides ultra-ultra high-performance with increased suitability for road use, Goodyear says. The tire has been designed to give Porsche 911 GT3 RS owners an option that aligns with their driving preferences and habits.
“We are immensely proud to have worked with Porsche once again on this project,” said Johannes Moll, managing director of OE consumer at Goodyear EMEA.
“A vehicle as extreme as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS deserves a tire that matches it in every way. From traction, turn in and braking performance, drivers can feel the road surface underneath them, giving them confidence and pleasure. Goodyear has taken lessons from its motorsport history to develop its line of UUHP tires.”
