Pirelli has celebrated the production of 50 million tires at its Silao plant in Guanajuato, Mexico. Situated within the Silao “Puerto Interior” industrial hub, the plant serves both local and North American markets, specializing in high-value segment tires for various vehicles.

The celebration included attendees such as Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, Governor of Guanajuato, and Enrico Verdino, CEO of Pirelli Mexico, along with company executives and staff.

The event also marked the opening of Pirelli Mexico’s first training center, dedicated to developing specialized local talent. The center will offer courses covering safety, quality, productivity, technology and environmental care in collaboration with local educational institutions.

Pirelli Mexico has invested more than US$900m in the Silao plant since its inauguration in 2012, increasing production capacity from 1.5 million to 8.5 million tires. Pirelli has also supported the Silao community through social responsibility programs and sustainability policies aligned with its global corporate guidelines.

Pirelli Mexico CEO  Enrico Verdino said, “We have many reasons to celebrate today, and Pirelli has again reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the state. In addition, the opening of the new training center will boost the competences and competitiveness of our Mexican employees. Pirelli’s focus on professional development has allowed people trained in Mexico to collaborate in other Pirelli facilities around the world, contributing to the global success of our company”.

Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, Governor of Guanajuato, said, “With this training center, Pirelli begins a new stage in its history in Mexico. In addition, it is a clear example of their confidence in the talent of our human capital and a very strong drive for innovation, the creative mind and Industry 4.0 of Guanajuato.”
