Paolo Pompei has been appointed president and CEO of Nokian Tyres. He will assume the position on January 1, 2025, with Jukka Moisio continuing as president and CEO until then.
Pompei has extensive experience in the tire industry, most recently as president of Yokohama TWS, formerly Trelleborg Wheel Systems, since 2017, following other positions at the Trelleborg Group including president of the business unit agricultural tires. He also worked at Pirelli and is a board member at the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA).
Pompei expressed his honor at being appointed, and highlighted Nokian Tyres’ transformation phase and its goals of strong growth in Central Europe and North America. “I look forward to working with the Nokian Tyres team, and creating future success together with existing and new customers,” he said.
Previously announced on March 27, 2024, current president and CEO Jukka Moisio will retire from his position this year, having led Nokian Tyres since 2020.
